Couch to 5K- Weeks 7 thru 9

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I can’t keep up with scheduled things. I just can’t. I’ve been noticing lately I have honest to goodness memory problems and I really truly can’t remember a lot of things if I don’t write them down. Plus, its the end of summer and I’ve been trying to get outside as much as possible before it gets bone numbingly cold out. So enjoy this mash-up post of the last 3 weeks!!

Weight: 175 – down 5 pounds total.

Work-out: At this point, its mostly running, very tiny walking periods, so there isn’t much to share here.

How I’m feeling: Accomplished! And much more energetic then beforehand. However, I never really got into running. Its not something I can see myself continuing. I am just not a running type person. So while the C25K was fun, running is not my thing.  I’m going to stick with yoga, walking, squats, and other various exercises…. I’m seriously thinking about belly dancing.

Foodie Penpal Reveal!!

The Lean Green Bean

I discovered this completely magnificent program over at The Lean Green Bean a while back and finally got the chance to join up for the August swap!

Its pretty straight forward. You get assigned a penpal for the month, and you send them food! Someone else gets your name, and they send you food! I’m 99% sure that food showing up on your door step is the greatest thing ever.

Then at the end of the month you reveal what you got on your blog (or you just eat it and don’t reveal it if you don’t have a blog!).

Coconut water, coconut water with mango and peach (my 2 favorite fruits!!) dark and milk chocolate from Enjoy LIfe (I LOVE there chocolate- soy, nut and dairy free, totally vegan), Jif natural peanut butter (that was gone in about 20 seconds….) gluten free sugar cookie mix and some delicious fruit and seed trail mix!!

All packed up in a fantastic bin! (Which will now be storing mason jar rings and lids…. I have 6 million of them and no where to put em!)

Announcements!

This post is just to let you know a few things that are coming up! Nothing food/recipe/nature/health related in this post. Just so y’all know. Just some updates and announcements and such.

First off, starting this upcoming Friday (August 16th) I will be co-hosting Real Food Fridays with Mary from Mary’s Kitchen, Lydia, from Lydia’s Flexitarian Kitchen and Joyce from It’s Your Life!

I can’t wait! It’ll be a weekly link party starting Thursday evening and running until Monday at noon. So feel free to come link up your real food recipes and links!! Wooo!!

Secondly, you may be wondering what on earth happened to my 5 part foraging series. I didn’t forget!!! I’m just waiting for a few later in the season plants to highlight! You can’t rush nature. When its in bloom, its in bloom =)

Thirdly, I will be taking a very short furlough from blogging September 4th-10th. I’m getting married!! And I’m going to be crazy busy with last minute prep, stressed over little stuff, running around like a chicken with my head cut off. That kind of stuff. So I’m letting you folks know ahead of time. Real Food Friday will still happen, since it’ll be scheduled, but no other posts during that time. Then the 11th you guys are going to have to deal with a post about my wedding. Just fair warning =)

4th, I plan to switch over to hosting myself sometime in the coming weeks!! (Not 100% what date yet). No more .Wordpress in my title. I’m moving on. Gettin’ fancy. I’m hoping its a clean switch when I do it, but I SUCK at technology. I’m amazed I’ve done this OK with it so far! So if there are any bumps going on, you’ll know why =)

7-Day Real Food Challenge!

So I’m joining up with some other bloggers for a real food challenge!

Its quite simple really, for 7 days, starting July 21st, absolutely only real food. No refined sugars, no store bought, pre-made, processed crap, homemade everything, basically, the lifestyle I’m working towards and that I endorse on this blog.
